How long do composite decks last?
Composite decks can last anywhere between 25-30 years if maintained properly, whereas wood decks have a lifespan of 10-15 years.
What are composite decks made out of?
Composite decks are made out of plastic (recycled or virgin) and wood particles. Wood particles can either be sawdust, wood chips, or wood fiber pieces.
How much does installation cost?
The average cost of composite decks is about $35 per square foot. However, it also depends on how big of a deck you’re looking at installing, the materials used, and what else you want to be included in your deck, such as stairs, custom railings, etc.

Do composite decks get hot in the heat?
Since we are a part of the Trex® Platform, we use Trex® decking products. Trex® decks typically do not get hotter than pressure-treated wood, but obviously, on extremely hot days with the sun hitting the deck’s surface, the surface will get hot, but not uncomfortably hot.
If you live in an area where the sun tends to hit your yard, it would be best to go with a lighter deck hue to have a slightly cooler surface.
